carey ross
Carey first started her yoga practice shortly after graduating college from Marymount University in 2009. She practiced Bikram yoga for two years before switching to Vinyasa yoga in 2012 after a brief yoga hiatus.
Initially, Carey started her yoga practice to help with balance, coordination, and core strength for her equestrian career, but once she started a Vinyasa practice, she soon realized that yoga encompassed far more than the physical component.
Her practice helped her remain calm when she decided to pursue her graduate degree at St. Johns while also teaching high school English full time. After graduating with her Master's degree in Liberal Arts in 2018, she decided to pursue her 200 hour YTT certification that fall.
Carey's goal as a yoga instructor is to build her students' confidence both on and off the mat. When Carey isn't teaching or practicing yoga, she is probably strength training, hiking, reading, sailing, visiting wineries with her husband, walking her two golden doodles, or (her favorite) spending time with her husband and their two young sons.
